ARADA is a government-registered Pakistani NGO committed to catalyzing the socio-economically marginalized rural communities in developing self-reliant and self-sustainable CBOs capable of addressing their poverty and deprivation through concerted collective efforts and largely independent self-initiatives. Arada’s methodology of mobilizing the target people is participatory. Participatory community development has been universally recognized as the most viable method of involving the target people in identifying and analyzing their own development issues, then planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluating projects and programs. To begin with, ARADA has opted to concentrate its research activities and development intervention on the multi-ethnic communities of Pakistanis residing in the arid zones of four districts in the province of Sindh, namely, Mithi, Umerkot, Dadu and Khairpur.
